The downstairs hallway is reserved for our Member’s Themed Exhibit each month. All SVAC members are encouraged to exhibit! Please visit the Membership tab for more information on the schedule of exhibits and how to participate.
Hallway Gallery
Our light filled upstairs hallway gallery showcases local and regional art groups, and sometime SVAC member work. Groups such as the Blue Ridge Region of Virginia Art Educators Association, the Paletteers, and others host annual exhibits in this space. Are you part of an art group, even an informal club? Please inquire about getting on the calendar.
Gift Shop Gallery
Our gift shop features handmade works from local and regional artists and fine artisans. There is also limited wall space available for SVAC members to showcase a grouping of 2D works. Please call Eileen at SVAC to arrange a mini-exhibit in the shop. Works are often scheduled around the seasons to help us maintain a relevant and energetic display.
Cabell-Arehart Invitational Gallery 126 S. Wayne Avenue
The Cabell-Arehart Invitational Gallery is the main gallery space at 126 S. Wayne Avenue. We host 9 exhibits per year in this space, including juried solo and group exihibitions. Annual exhibits include the Shenandoah Valley Governor’s School Peer Juried Exhibit, 40UNDER40, the Annual Anniversary Member’s Exhibit, and the Winter Contemporary Exhibit featuring a guest curator.
Applications to exhibit in the Cabell-Arehart Invitational Exhibit are reviews each August for the following year. Artists are asked to submit a package including: 10 hi-resolution images, a show proposal, and artist statement, and a resume to be considered. Applications may be emailed to svartcenter@gmail (dot) com.
