Workshop: Bold Sketches with Ink Wash and Watercolor

Do you want to quickly make great small sketches that help you plan and prep for bigger drawings or paintings? Maybe you find the small sketch to be a beautiful finished work of art all by itself. In this three day workshop we will explore ink and watercolors bold, quick sketching mediums and discover strategies for using value and color to create exciting, decisive sketches! Starting in the studio, we will probably also do some outside work (en-plein-air) weather permitting. For the

student who has just begun to explore drawing or painting as well as for intermediate to advanced student artists wishing to enrich their work.

Raku Workshop! Get your hands into some clay and some FIRE into your life! Lynn will be on hand to guide you as you work on the wheel and with hand building to make wet work, glaze pieces, and then orchestrate the magic of a raku firing. You will walk away with several complete pieces and the workshop ends up with a great potluck dinner at Lynn’s. Felted Wool and Silk Spiral ScarfKaren Shapcott will be teaching this make-it-and-take-it afternoon class. You will be making a work of art to wear! This doesn’t require any previous experience with felting or textiles and the results are amazing! You will be working with silk and wool roving to create a mesmerizing spiral scarf.  June 11, 11-4, $100




 

 

WEEKLY CHILDREN’S CLASSES:  Classes are held Saturdays 11am-1pm, $10 per class per child. Best for kids aged 6-10. Please register by paying (below) of calling SVAC 949-7662 by the Friday before by noon for the next day’s class. All supplies and a snack are included. You may purchase one, two, or ten classes below (multiple classes may be split among kids and do not need to be used consecutively), or you may pay at drop off.

  ART TRADING CARDS: The third Thursday of each month- 11am-1pm. This group is free and open to the public. Join us for a  small and very fun group that works on tiny art trading cards (baseball card size). They are fun for trading, collecting, and even selling. What a great way to try something new without a huge commitment! Each month there is a little lesson and some work time. Bring your own supplies (this group is big on sharing!) and sense of humor.
