6. Watercolor and Wax
November 13 and 14
Robin Poteet will be teaching this mini-workshop just in time for gift giving (you can give yourself gifts, right?). You’ll love the look of these vivid, batik-like watercolors painted on rice paper. The technique involves alternating layers of paint and wax and the results are always surprising and successful! Over the two days, students will have time to create 4 – 6 finished pieces…. perfect as Christmas gifts! This is a fun, hands-on process for all levels, including teens and beginners. Check Robin out at the Fall Foliage Art Show!
Supplies: A supply list will be given upon registration. If you are a painter, you will likely have everything needed. Robin will supply the wax and tools.
7. Storytelling with the Camera
November 7 and 14
This two class workshop allows participants to create a story using photographs. Any camera will do, including you cell phone. The first class, Stacey will discuss approaches and techniques when creating photographs. Examples of photography projects will be presented. Then the group will shoot in class assignments for practice. Before leaving each student will propose a topic for their story. Over the next week, participants will take photographs with their story in mind. Have 15-20 photo prints that are 4×6 made up at CVW or Walmart (inexpensive) or other photo labs.
