The Member’s Gallery is designed to showcase the work of our many talented member artists. There is a theme most months that work should be centered around. The themes are open to interpretation and in the past have included RED, GREEN, FIGURES, LANDSCAPES, and more. We encourage creative interpretation!

SVAC is a real community art center- we allow all of our members to exhibit in the monthly themed Member’s Gallery Exhibits. The themes are loose to allow everyone to participate as often as possible. See below for the 2013 schedule of themes.
Exhibition Requirements: All work must be ready to hang or able to stand freely on their own. What does this mean?
Ready to hang: All works must be framed, or have finished edges. There must be screw eyes or d-rings in the back of frames for safe hanging. One on each side approximately 1/4 of the way down is perfect. If you have any questions at all about our requirements, please call the Center. A wire is not required as we hang with monofiliment. Sculptures must be able to stand on their own. We have a variety of sculpture stands available for use but we do not have acrylic boxes for protection.
Exhibits are hung by a committee on the Wednesday preceding the first Thursday of the month. All works must be checked in by noon on that Wednesday to be hung. There is a committee member available to help with the check-in process. See the schedule below for check in dates and times.
There is no entry fee for member’s shows, except for June and October.
SVAC is only able to keep the doors open because of the amazing volunteer efforts of our members. Please consider signing up for a docent shift each month. Shifts are 10am-1pm or 1pm-4pm Tuesday-Saturday and SVAC is a fun place to hang out! Call Docent Director Judy Harlow at 540-942-5684 to sign up or for more details.
